Independent businesses from across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole gathered at Bournemouth University for the inaugural BCP Business Awards, recognising innovation and entrepreneurial spirit across the region.
Organised by Marketing West SW Ltd, the awards covered 13 categories with more than 30 winners spanning hospitality, health and wellbeing, professional services and B2B. Halo Design and La Mia’s jointly took the top prize, Overall Business of the Year. Hospitality winners included Bournemouth’s Key West Bar & Grill, La Mia’s and FIKA Bournemouth, Christchurch’s The Priory, MAW Cocktail Restaurant and Honey Cake Patisserie, and Highcliffe’s The Castle Pantry and Bistro My Way. In health, beauty and fitness, winners included Christchurch’s Bridge Health & Wellbeing, Mojo Chiro and Christchurch Derma Spa, and Bournemouth’s Your Life Matters. Professional services awards went to Whitefox Chartered Surveyors, HG Walker Solicitors and Oakwood Independent Mortgage Consultants, while B2B winners included Streetwise HR, Halo Design, Holt Recruitment and Talent Drive in Bournemouth, and The Foundry, The Spark, Cordoba Rewards, Brown Booth and Pro2col in Poole. Local charities Poole Waste Not Want Not, Forest Holme Hospice and Home-Star Wessex were also recognised.
Nigel Reeve of Marketing West SW Ltd said winners typically report a higher profile, improved morale and new business opportunities as a result of the awards, underlining the strength of community support for independent businesses across the BCP area.
