Calgary Art in Nature - Woodland Walk Description
Winding through Scottish woodland, the sculpture trail celebrates a unique blend of art and nature. Originally set up in 1999, its aim was to site unique sculptures within the woodland at Calgary that provoke and enlighten a general awareness of art in nature.
There is something for everyone with breath-taking views of Calgary Bay, family-friendly treasures to explore (willow tunnel, nature tower and zip wire) and a diverse range of sculptures that accentuate the walk down to Calgary beach.
We see the great beauty of nature in the rocks, trees, flowers, in the sea, in sunshine and shadows. The trees were planted and tended and people have worked the wood and surrounding land for hundreds of years. What we see now is a product of both nature and man’s efforts, a working environment, a cultural landscape and now a source of peace, contemplation and exploration.
