In the heart of London’s South Bank, Walter Fabeck offers personal, tailor-made programmes of piano, composition and theory tuition.
A graduate in music from the University of Surrey, Walter draws on more than 30 years of teaching and professional work as a pianist and composer in concert halls, theatre and commercial fields, so brings a wide range of experiences together to illuminate the subject. Thanks to his broad musical interests he can nurture skills in styles ranging from classical through to jazz and contemporary music.
His teaching method aims to develop a deep understanding of music from its primary elements (melody, harmony, rhythm and tone) and works outwards according to the needs of the individual.
Students of all abilities are welcome, from beginners upwards. Tuition is friendly and informal, but always focussed on realising the potential of each student to the maximum. Walter’s pupils age from five to ninety. Regular private recitals are organised so that students who wish to can work on their live performance.
With a fully equipped project studio Walter can also teach aspects of contemporary composition including exploration of creative music technology, highlighting techniques in software including Logic, Ableton and Sibelius.
