Owned and run by cousins Jane Gill and Liz McGougan, who were brought up side by side on the shores of the famous Loch Fyne in the fishing village of Tarbert. Most of their working lives have been spent in the catering trade, starting off in the family’s Anchor Hotel, Tarbert specialising in fresh Lochfyne seafood in the early 80′s, with Liz picking up coveted awards in the West End of Glasgow.
Now they’re based in another Argyll fishing community, Tobermory on the island of Mull. The Cafe’ is wonderfully appointed on the upper floor of the Calmac Pier with spectacular views over Tobermory Bay to Calve island and the Sound of Mull. From the alfresco terrace you can catch an amazing sunset and watch a selection of fresh seafood en route from the rugged coastal waters around Mull straight to your plate two hours later.
