A large fire broke out at Midmill Business Park in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, on the morning of 29 March, leaving one man hospitalised. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent six fire engines and two specialist units to the industrial unit after the blaze was reported at around 10:40am, with eyewitnesses describing thick black smoke billowing from the building.
Police Scotland cordoned off the area around Tumulus Way and asked local residents to keep their windows and doors shut. A police statement said: “Emergency services are responding to a fire at an industrial unit in the Tumulus Way area of Kintore. One man has been taken to hospital for treatment, and emergency services remain at the scene. The public are asked to stay away from the area and local residents should keep their windows and doors shut at this time.”
Fire crews continued working to bring the blaze under control, and the cause had not been established at the time of reporting, as first reported by STV News.
