Ulverston’s Business Improvement District (BID) has been renewed for a further five years after a 28-day postal ballot of local businesses, administered by Civica Election Services.
Of 131 votes cast, representing an aggregate rateable value of £3,363,450, 78 businesses voted in favour of renewal, representing £2,306,800 of that rateable value. The result gave the BID a clear dual mandate, winning both by number of votes and by the rateable value of the properties represented.
The renewal allows Ulverston BID to continue initiatives aimed at improving the town centre and supporting its business community, typically including town centre improvements, marketing campaigns, events and support for local enterprises, for the next five years.
