Set up by a trainer who found training dull
Karen spent her career in the leisure and education industries, sitting through sessions of long PowerPoints with little hands-on practice. She decided to become a trainer in 2014 to do it differently, and set up KH Training in 2022, drawing on years of delivering training and her own experience of giving emergency first aid.
Mentoring for the Royal Life Saving Society
By 2025 Karen was also mentoring probationary trainers and assessors for the Royal Life Saving Society and carrying out internal and external audits to check that local leisure facilities are compliant. KH Training's qualifications are accredited through the awarding bodies Qualsafe, FAIB, RLSS and STA.
On-site courses from the North West across the UK
Organisations trained include Mercure Hotels, the RSPCA, OMC Motor Group, Settle Swimming Pool and Stonyhurst Sports Centre. The business is based in the North West but travels across the UK to run courses on site at a client's own premises.
