Implexus is an independent strength gym inside Carlton Mills on Pickering Street, Armley, with an exposed-brick, cast-iron-pillared training floor that is kitted out for lifters of every kind. Powerlifters get IPF-style combination racks from Eleiko, Rogue and Powergear, a monolift, calibrated plates and several deadlift platforms, while strongman and strongwoman athletes have logs, a yoke, farmers handles, tyres, atlas stones, sandbags and a truck-pull harness.

The general gym covers squat racks, cable and leg machines, dumbbells up to 60kg, kettlebells, Watt Bikes, rowers and a SkiErg, plus a wide choice of specialty bars. Members also have an infrared sauna, separate changing rooms, a cafe and protein bar, physiotherapy and a clothing shop. Day passes, memberships, group sessions and personal training are all available.
