Paolo's Italian Kitchen is a modern Italian restaurant on Shenley Road in the centre of Borehamwood, opened in 2021 by its chef-owners. The chef the restaurant is named after is a third-generation restaurateur with roots in Emilia-Romagna who trained at Westminster Catering College and cooked in Switzerland, Italy and London before opening his own place, and the kitchen's motto, Amore e Sapore, sums up its approach of honest, carefully made Italian food.
The menu runs from small plates such as fried ravioli, arancini and garlic pizza breads to antipasti, pasta and main courses, with clearly marked vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free choices, and there is a wine list to match. The bright dining room has teal velvet chairs, booth seating and a well-stocked bar, and the restaurant also offers takeaway, home delivery and catering for private and corporate parties.
It serves lunch and dinner on weekdays, with a break in the afternoon, and is open all day at weekends; reservations can be made online or by phone.
