Company history

From the Woodscrew Supply Company to a national trade counter network

Screwfix was founded in 1979 by Jon Goddard-Watts as the Woodscrew Supply Company, originally selling fixings by mail order. Kingfisher plc, which also owns B&Q, acquired the business in 1999 and has grown it into one of the UK's largest trade counter and click-and-collect networks.
