Rebuilding bigger on Blackpool Road
This Aldi opened at Deepdale Shopping Park in the 1990s and has already been extended twice. Preston City Council has approved plans to demolish the current building and replace it with a larger store, growing the floorspace from around 15,000 to 20,000 sq ft and adding an electric vehicle charging point.
Part of a growing UK chain
Aldi now runs well over 1,000 stores across the UK and has set a long-term goal of reaching 1,500, backed by a multi-billion-pound investment programme to keep opening new branches.
