The Albert Club Clubs in Didsbury, Manchester

About
The Albert Club is a members' tennis, bowling and social club in West Didsbury, established in 1874 and run today as a not-for-profit association with more than a thousand members. Its home is a listed Victorian clubhouse designed by Alfred Waterhouse, set in its own grounds off Old Lansdowne Road and looking out over one of Manchester's oldest crown green bowling greens.
Outside there are tennis courts that can be booked online, with adult and junior coaching, holiday camps for children, social and team tennis and a growing pickleball section. Indoors the clubhouse has a bar stocking wines and rotating guest beers from local brewers, a seasonal menu of home-cooked food, a snooker room, darts and table tennis, and rooms that can be hired for private functions.
The social calendar runs through the year, with quiz nights, film nights, open mic sessions, live music and larger annual events such as fireworks night. Visitors are welcome as signed-in guests, and new members can join online. The bar opens from 1pm on Mondays and Fridays, 4pm Tuesday to Thursday and midday at weekends, and the tennis courts can be booked from 9am to 10pm every day.
