Hot Water Comedy Club Entertainment in Everton, Liverpool
About
Hot Water Comedy Club was started in 2010 and has grown from a Sunday new-act night into one of the best known comedy clubs in the country. After earlier homes on Seel Street and Hardman Street, the club moved in 2024 into Blackstock Market, a converted 60,000 square foot site in the north of the city centre, where it runs three performance spaces.
The main room, The Auditorium, seats close to 600 people in theatre-style rows facing the club's familiar brick-wall stage, and smaller rooms host podcasts and intimate shows. Live comedy runs from Thursday to Sunday, with triple and double headline bills, touring comedians, the free 3 Minutes of Fame open-mic night, the Comedy Roast, New Act Night, live podcast recordings and a free lunchtime show on Saturdays.
Food and drink come from the market's bars and kitchens, under-18s are admitted to shows before 10pm, and wheelchair-accessible seating is available. The rooms can also be hired for tour dates, filming and private events.

Chortle Award winner
Hot Water Comedy Club was voted Best Comedy Venue at the 2022 Chortle Awards, with almost 10,000 readers of the UK comedy site Chortle taking part in the poll; the club beat London's 99 Club Leicester Square into second place. It had previously been named the north's best venue in the 2018 Chortle Awards.
North West Comedy Awards success
At the North West Comedy Awards the club has twice been named Best Comedy Club, picking up further wins along the way for its resident MC Paul Smith (Best Host) and for its social media presence, recognition voted for by the public rather than judged internally.
