Princes Square Shopping Centres in Glasgow

About
Princes Square is a covered shopping and dining centre set behind a sandstone frontage halfway along Buchanan Street, Glasgow's main shopping street. The building began life as a four-storey merchant square completed in 1841 and named by its owner, James Campbell, to mark the birth of the Prince of Wales. In the 1980s the Grade B listed buildings were restored and roofed over in glass, and the centre opened in its present form in 1988.
Its ornate metalwork facade, with a peacock spreading its tail over the entrance, is one of the best-known sights in the city centre, and the building was voted Scotland's favourite in a public vote run as part of a Scottish architecture centenary competition. Inside, the floors around the central square hold luxury and designer labels, fashion and beauty names, jewellers and smaller boutiques, alongside restaurants, bars and coffee shops that open for breakfast and trade late into the evening, and an intimate boutique cinema.
Shops keep the centre's daytime hours, while food and drink venues set their own. There is no car park on site; Glasgow Central and Queen Street stations are a few minutes' walk away, as are the Buchanan Street and St Enoch subway stops.
