About

Ceramics Classes London has been teaching pottery since 2019, and its main studio, known as The Arch, sits in a converted railway arch on Cambridge Grove, a few minutes from Hammersmith's shops and stations. The whitewashed arch is fitted out as a working studio where complete beginners and experienced makers share the space.

Wheel throwing classes take people from centring their first lump of clay through to pulling up and trimming pots, while hand-building sessions cover pinching, coiling and slab work for those who prefer to shape by hand. Drop-in sessions suit anyone wanting a single go without signing up for a course, and private and specialist sessions can be arranged for one person or a small group.

The studio also runs pottery parties for children and team events for companies, and offers membership for potters who want regular studio time. The Arch keeps long hours, open into the evening on weekdays and through the day at weekends.
