KFC's first UK restaurant opened on Fishergate in Preston, Lancashire, on 1 May 1965, brought to Britain under franchise by Harry Latham and Ray Allen after Allen met Colonel Harland Sanders in the United States. The chain introduced its first UK drive-thru in 1982 and has since grown to well over 1,000 restaurants across the UK and Ireland, including this South Harrow branch near South Harrow station.
