The Awareness Centre opened its first counselling and therapy centre on Abbeville Road in Clapham in 2005, and the white-fronted building remains its main base for talking therapy in South London. Clients can be matched with a counsellor or psychotherapist for a wide range of difficulties, from anxiety, depression and bereavement to trauma, eating disorders and relationship problems, and specialist services include couples and family therapy, sex and relationship therapy, EMDR and work with children and adolescents.

Alongside private therapy there is a low-cost service with therapists in the final stages of training, and some therapy is funded through the NHS for local residents. Sessions are offered in more than 20 languages, no GP referral is needed, and the reception team helps new clients find the right therapist. The same building houses the centre's training school, which runs counselling and clinical supervision courses.

Appointments run from early morning into the evening on weekdays, with shorter sessions on Saturdays and Sunday mornings.
