Konishi Gaffney Architects Architects in Leith, Edinburgh
About
Konishi Gaffney Architects is a RIBA chartered architecture practice working from a shopfront studio on Constitution Street in Leith. It was launched in 2009 by director Kieran Gaffney, an ARB-registered architect who had worked in Berlin, Tokyo and London, where he helped establish Heatherwick Studio, before returning to Scotland.
The small team takes on projects of every size, from renovations and extensions of private homes around Edinburgh to new houses, community centres, visitor buildings and public projects, with a focus on natural, practical materials, daylight and the link between inside and out. Its work has won or been shortlisted for most of Scotland's main architecture prizes, including RIAS Awards, Scottish Design Awards and Edinburgh Architectural Association awards, with recent recognition for the Greyfriars Charteris Centre, Silecroft Beach Cafe and Glenelg Highland Houses.
The studio is open on weekdays and is happy to talk through a project by phone or email.
