Muse Hair is a family-run salon on Ferry Road in Leith with more than 65 years of hairdressing behind it, now led by the third generation of the family to run it. Many clients have been coming for years, some across several generations of the same family, and in 2026 the salon was named Best Hair Salon in Scotland at the Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards.

Appointments start with a consultation about your hair and routine, and the menu covers cut and blow-dry, specialist cuts for curly or thick hair and restyles, blow-dries, clipper cuts, hair-ups and added waves or curls. Colour work runs from semi-permanent and full-head colour, toners and glosses through partial, half-head and full-head highlights, babylights, foilyage and hand-painted balayage to bleach and tone, vivid shades and hourly colour correction.

Davines and bond-building treatments are available, and the salon has added premium Remi human hair extensions. Prices are guide prices set by stylist experience, all colour needs a skin test 48 hours before, and the salon does not do dry cuts. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays and open late on Thursdays and Fridays.
