Founded by former nurse Gill Isterling in 1996
Premier Community was founded in 1996 by former nurse Gill Isterling, starting out with cleaning and home care services for adults in her local community. By early 2006 it employed over 100 carers and had won several council and NHS contracts. It is still family-owned and run, with Gill's sons involved in different parts of the business.
Mobility shops opened since 2018
To sit alongside its home care, Premier Community opened its first mobility shop in Ilkeston in April 2018, followed by Sheffield later that year, King's Mill Hospital in 2019, Carlton in 2021 and Swadlincote in 2025. The shops offer advice on its care services and a range of mobility equipment to try.
