Philps Bakery Bakers in Marazion

About
Philps is a family-run Cornish bakery that has handmade traditional pasties since 1958, when its founder opened the original shop in Hayle. This branch sits on Market Place in the heart of Marazion, a short walk from the causeway to St Michael's Mount, and bakes the same recipes by hand using Cornish beef, free-range eggs and locally grown vegetables.
Alongside the classic steak pasty, the shop sells cheese and onion, chicken and vegetable varieties, plus vegan and gluten-free options, Cornish pastries and sweet treats to eat in or take away. The wider business also runs a nationwide Pasties by Post delivery service and caters for weddings, corporate functions and private parties.

Family-run since 1958
Philps began in 1958 when founder Sammy Philps opened a bakery in Hayle to bring an authentic Cornish pasty to a wider audience. The business has stayed family-run ever since, and this Marazion shop is one of several bakeries the family now runs across west Cornwall, alongside Hayle, Camborne, Praze-an-Beeble, Helston and Porthleven.
Pasties by Post
Alongside its shop counters, Philps runs a Pasties by Post delivery service that ships its pasties and other bakes across the UK, a reach the company puts down partly to word of mouth among Cornish expats overseas.
