Snapdragon is a florist, plant shop and botanical store on Bruntsfield Place, opened by founder Catherine Traynor in February 2015 and run with a small team of florists. Its style is natural, seasonal and garden-inspired, with fresh flowers arriving several times a week and locally grown blooms used from April to October.
Every design is made without floral foam. The team makes bouquets and arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and everyday gifts, with local delivery or collection from the shop, and runs a monthly flower subscription. Weddings are handled either as fully bespoke florals planned with the couple or through a fixed-price range that can be ordered online, and funeral tributes and sympathy flowers are made to order.
Beyond cut flowers, the shop stocks houseplants, candles it makes itself, and home and garden goods from British makers and brands such as Garden Trading and Burgon & Ball, and it hosts floral workshops including Christmas wreath making. The shop is open seven days a week, with shorter hours on Saturdays and Sundays.
