Clearing and restoring the Widdington sandpit site
Widdington Recycling is part of JOD Group, which moved into waste by buying an existing waste business at Widdington. The site came with more than 35,000 tonnes of waste left by its previous user, which was cleared before a concrete base was laid and the recycling facility built. Cells 1 and 2 of the old landfill have since been restored to farmland, and the company's trucks are custom-built to pass under the low bridge into the site.
