Oyster Creek Kitchen is a seafood and grill restaurant inside the Victorian Sun Shelter on Western Esplanade, looking straight out over the Thames Estuary between Westcliff and Southend seafront. The menu leans on the sea, with local oysters served raw or grilled, lobster, catch-of-the-day dishes and seafood boils, alongside steaks, burgers, beach tacos and small plates such as crispy squid, plus a lighter Low Tide menu at lunchtime.

Inside, large windows look out towards the water, and out front there is a terrace with sofas, parasols and palm trees for sunny days and sunset drinks, with champagne and cocktails on the bar list. The restaurant also runs themed party nights and a Christmas party menu. It opens from Wednesday to Sunday and is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays; the kitchen stops taking orders earlier than the bar, at 20:30 midweek, 21:30 on Fridays and Saturdays and 17:30 on Sundays.
