Jewson traces its roots to a business George Jewson bought in Earith, Cambridgeshire, in 1836, which his family grew into a timber, coal and builders' merchant based in Norwich. It is now one of Britain's largest builders' merchant chains, with around 500 branches, including this one on the Isle of Lewis.
