Company history

Rooted in East Anglia since 1836

Jewson's story starts close to home: George Jewson bought a timber and builders' merchant business in Earith in the Huntingdonshire Fens in 1836, and John Jewson later built up the trade from Colegate in Norwich from 1868. Nearly two centuries on, the chain has grown to around 500 branches across Great Britain, including this Watton depot serving mid-Norfolk's trade and self-build customers.
