The Crown at Wells is a 15th-century coaching inn on Market Place in the heart of Wells, built around 1450 for Bishop Beckynton. Its fifteen en-suite bedrooms sit above Anton's Bistrot and the dog-friendly Penn Bar, which serve real ales, wines and food from breakfast through to dinner every day. The inn's exterior featured in the 2007 film Hot Fuzz, and stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost returned for a meal after its premiere. Reception and the bar are open every day from 7.30am to 11pm.
