Matthews Legal is a small Shropshire solicitors' practice, trading as Matthews Legal and Mediation Solutions Limited, led by director Steve Matthews, a solicitor with over 30 years' experience. Having already built a presence in Shrewsbury and Telford, the firm opened its dedicated Wem office in 2023 at the refurbished Charleston Business Centre on Aston Street, which is also the company's registered office.
The practice focuses on private client and family work: wills, lasting powers of attorney, estate planning, probate, Court of Protection matters and Land Registry work, alongside private family law covering divorce, child arrangements and the financial side of separation. The firm's name also reflects its mediation and dispute resolution service, and it draws up prenuptial agreements too.
It serves individuals and families across North Shropshire and the Wem area, with appointments offered outside standard hours for clients who need them. Matthews Legal also takes part in the Free Charity Wills Network, preparing free wills for clients who choose to leave a donation to a partner charity instead.
