Creative Biscuit is a paint-your-own ceramics cafe on George Lane in South Woodford, where visitors of any age pick a blank piece from the shelves, from mugs and plates to vases and picture frames, and decorate it with underglaze paints before the studio glazes and fires it in the kiln for collection later. Sessions run for two hours and are booked on the hour, so a relaxed afternoon of painting is easy to plan, and booking ahead is strongly recommended at weekends, in the school holidays and for larger groups.

Beyond walk-in painting the cafe hosts children's birthday parties, baby showers, hen parties, corporate team events and workshops for schools and charities, makes baby hand and footprint keepsakes, sells takeaway painting kits for use at home, and will paint custom orders on request, from a single personalised mug to a whole dinner service. Cakes are baked on the premises and served alongside coffee, hot chocolate, milkshakes, toasties, soups and sandwiches, so it works as a cafe stop as much as a craft session. Finished pieces are dishwasher safe once glazed.
