Borelli's has been a fixture of Farnham since 1987, tucked away in the historic Borelli Yard in the centre of town. It works as a wine bar, grill and restaurant in one: a ground-floor bar, a first-floor dining room overlooking the courtyard, and a newer glazed pergola with three retractable roofs so diners can eat outside when the weather allows, beside a large Indian bean tree.
The kitchen cooks tapas and sharing boards, salads, pasta, stone-baked 12-inch sourdough pizzas, burgers and steaks from the grill, and a Sunday roast, with weekly deals such as three-for-two tapas on Wednesdays and money off fish on Fridays. Food is served at lunchtime from Tuesday to Sunday and in the evenings from Wednesday to Saturday, while the bar stays open late at the end of the week with draught beers, wines and cocktails.
A coffee bar in the courtyard serves drinks during the day, the first floor can be hired for parties of up to 50, and the long-running Borelli's comedy club hosts a dinner-and-show night with comedians off the television each month. It is closed on Mondays.
