The Third Monkey is an independently owned gastropub and restaurant on South Street in the centre of Farnham, which opened in the summer of 2025. The kitchen is led by an executive chef who is a two-time National Chef of the Year finalist, and cooks hyper-seasonal British produce with an eye on sustainability and zero waste, from a Cornish crab crumpet to 50-day dry-aged ribeye.
The building works on several levels: a relaxed ground-floor bar serving craft beer, a long wine list and small plates, a more polished dining room and cocktail bar upstairs, and a rooftop terrace for warmer days. A good-value prix fixe menu changes every week, there is a separate plant-based menu, and Sundays bring roasts with a dedicated children's menu for under-tens.
On Friday and Saturday nights the upstairs bar stays open late after dinner. Dogs are welcome in the downstairs bar, tables are booked online, the venue can be hired for private events, and the Sainsbury's car park next door is the handiest place to park.
