Pretty Shiny Shop is an independent gift shop on Stroud Green Road in Finsbury Park, which opened its doors in June 2016. The long, wood-floored shop is packed with things to give or keep: racks of greeting cards for every occasion, glass cabinets of jewellery, candles, stationery, prints, bags and accessories, homeware and a corner of gifts and craft kits for children.
The owners favour products that are designed in the UK, made with care for the environment or traded fairly, so many of the brands on the shelves are small independent makers rather than names found on every high street. It is a handy stop for a last-minute birthday card or a more considered present, and much of the range can also be bought through the online shop.
The shop opens seven days a week, from 10.30am to 6.30pm on weekdays, 10am to 6pm on Saturdays and 10am to 5pm on Sundays.
