Sanderson Precision Engineering is a subcontract machine shop at Wellington Works on Plover Road in Lindley, on the western side of Huddersfield. The business began in the early 1960s as a local engineering service for the town and has since grown into a machining operation supplying customers across the UK. Work runs from single bespoke parts and prototypes through to small, medium and large batches, made to tight tolerances in materials ranging from plastics and aluminium to exotic alloys such as Inconel and Hastelloy.

The shop has a large CNC milling facility alongside CNC turning, wire erosion, welding, finishing, tooling and component assembly, and parts are designed in CAD/CAM software and passed straight to the machines, with jobs saved so repeat orders can be turned round quickly. Finished components are inspected before delivery.

Its specialism is small and medium components that are hard to produce, for sectors including food packaging, medical, power generation, metrology, motorsport, transport and canning. The workshop is open on weekdays during working hours.
