I M Murray Engineering Ltd has been fabricating metalwork on the Isle of Lewis since 1979, moving into a purpose-built workshop on the Parkend Industrial Estate within its first two years, where the business remains based today. Early work focused on livestock trailers, boat trailers, gates, railings and cattle grids, and has since grown to cover decorative and structural metalwork of all kinds, from roof beams and fire escape stairs to security fences. The business has also carried out heritage work locally, including the waterwheel and railings at Lews Castle Grounds, repairs within the refurbished Lews Castle, and the restoration of historic railings and gates in partnership with Laing's Foundry in Edinburgh.
