Kinetrol is a British manufacturer of pneumatic and electric rotary actuators, positioners, limit switch boxes and rotary hydraulic dampers, built around the vane-type quarter-turn actuator design it invented and patented. Founded in Farnham in 1958 as a firm of control engineers, the company has stayed family-owned ever since, growing from a small engineering outfit into a specialist supplier for valve automation and machinery control used across process, water, oil and gas, and general industrial plants.
Its actuators and spring-return fail-safe modules are built to withstand demanding, safety-critical duty cycles, and the firm has since added its own valve-automation division and an electric actuator range alongside the original pneumatic line. Manufacturing is still carried out across several sites in Farnham, with a worldwide network of subsidiaries and distributors built up over decades to support the equipment once it is installed.
