IMAGE Tailors is a family-run alterations and tailoring shop on the corner of Fonthill Road and Moray Road, a few minutes' walk from Finsbury Park station, and it has been altering clothes from the same shop since 1995. The work covers the whole wardrobe. Bridal is a large part of it, with wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and wedding-guest outfits fitted and adjusted, and men's formal wear gets the same attention, from wedding and occasion suits to black tie and tuxedos.
Everyday jobs are just as welcome: shortening and tapering trousers and jeans, resizing jackets and coats, taking in shirts and knitwear, and repairs such as new zips, torn seams, relining, buttons and hooks, moth-damaged knitwear and leather. Customers can walk in during opening hours for straightforward work, while complex alterations are best booked as a fitting, which takes place on site so the fit can be checked on the body.
A priced quote is given at the fitting, and an express service is available for urgent deadlines. The shop opens Monday to Saturday.
