Max's Sandwich Shop Takeaways in Haringey, London

About
Max's Sandwich Shop has been making big, hot, messy sandwiches on Crouch Hill, between Finsbury Park and Crouch End, since 2014. Founder Max Halley built the place around the idea that a sandwich should balance hot and cold, soft and crunchy, sweet and sour, and the result is a short menu of named creations such as the Ham, Egg 'n' Chips, the Original Gangster, the Morning Reviver and Et Tu Brute, alongside specials that change through the year.
Sandwiches can be taken away or eaten in at the shop, which also serves beer and wine and keeps going into the evening later in the week. Max has cooked his sandwiches on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch, the shop has been covered by Time Out and Esquire, and his recipes are collected in Max's Sandwich Book. There are no reservations: just turn up.
The shop is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, when it can be hired privately, and it also caters for weddings, office parties and other events. It closes for a few weeks at Christmas and in August, so check before a special trip.
